The HARP deadline has been extended to December 31, 2013 for loans originally sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac on or before May 31, 2009.
Along with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Comstock Mortgage has extended the HARP program deadline in order to allow more eligible applicants to benefit from refinancing underwater mortgages.
What Should I Know Before the HARP Deadline?
Applicants should meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The mortgage must be guaranteed or owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
- The mortgage must have been sold to Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac on or before May 31, 2009.
- The mortgage cannot have been refinanced under HARP previously unless it is a Fannie Mae loan that was refinanced under HARP from March-May, 2009.
- You must be current on the mortgage at the time of the refinance, with a good payment history in the past 12 months.
